Wargame red dragon israel units6/4/2023 ![]() ![]() You use them to bust tanks in forest, ambush tanks, push against tanks. VDV'90: Spam VDV 90 mixed with FS and anti-inf inf. Short Story: Learn to use Burrito it is key for USSR, SovKor and RED. If your deck does not have a burrito it's for specific scenarios with smerches or heavy tubes, mostly because all your teammates will bring burritos. There's times when mortars would be a waste and a Burrantino could take their spot.īurantino: Bring Burantino and mortars or burantino and smerch. Though I would say the Burrantino beats the Uragan at everything except killing openings.Īnyways this of course assumes you go AA heavy and take mortars. The Uragan is arguably inferior to the Burrantino has rocket arty with massive HE fills the same roll but it does have more range. A smerch can wipe out large portions of enemy defensive equipment and fires fast enough to stop offensive waves. If you got a Burrantino you can easily win an upcoming assault or a stalled battle of attrition but Malkas can counter arty whilst still pounding enemy defenses. It really depends on the map and your play style. If you want to fill your support cards up with the last spot you could get the Burrantino and it is really good but you could also get Smerch, Malkas, or Uragan. Mortars are always a must since they are what can turn the tide of any infantry battle, lay smoke, and they don't suck up supplies that much. You should always have at least 3 AA pieces as in a SPAAG, Long range SAM, and if possible an IR missile platform or an IR platform in general. I kinda disagree with the Burrantino bit. They seem OP when you know exactly how to manage and micro their high-cost units, but completely sunk if you make just a few mistakes in applying their strengths. I know there is a "right way" to use USSR but I haven't been able to figure it out on my own. I get that GRU are good, but I feel my GRU always die quickly when I use them. Am I supposed to use my VDV 90 to push a position, or hold it? Am I gimping myself by not using Buratino? I don't understand the best way to use ATGM tanks, so I imagine I am shooting myself in the foot there too. I can never determine what the best tactics are. EuroCorps were all rounders, and USA/NORAD meant applying your unicorns aggressively around well-anchored defensive positions.īut for USSR, their meta has remained a mystery to me. ![]() Eastern Bloc focused on a bit of spam mixed with efficiently-priced firepower. RD Moto depended on screening, recon, and stealth. For all of those factions, I "grasped" their meta-strategy really quick. For BluFor I either played USA, EuroCorps, or NORAD when it came out later. I generally cut my teeth on Wargame with Red Dragon, and generally sided towards Red, sticking to Red Dragon Motorized deck and unspec Eastern Bloc. It seems a USSR player needs to use very specific combinations of inf/tank/support/air assets in tandem, or otherwise the general strategies fall apart.įirst, some background. This might seem dead-simple to some, but whenever I try to play as Russia, I do not do as well as with other coalitions/nations.
